YOU CAN STILL PAVE THE WAY!
The Children’s Museum will be a 21st century model for playful learning that prepares our children to meet the challenges of the future.  Unlike any other local institution, this will be a dynamic, interactive environment that engages children’s bodies, minds, and hearts in joyful learning that develops the foundational skills so necessary for success.

We are especially proud that, on April 7, 2009, the City Council voted unanimously to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with the Children's Museum for the City-owned property at 125 State Street. They also voted unanimously to designate the Children's Museum project a Community Priority.

The site is ideal -- accessible to all by foot, bike, car, bus, shuttle, and even train.  This prominent gateway location, right on State Street, sends a powerful message to all that, in Santa Barbara, children are valued.

The Children’s Museum is planning a 16,000 square-foot building, designed by award-winning architect Barry Berkus. The green building will include 9,000 square feet of interactive educational exhibits, rooftop garden, classroom and a wonderful Museum Store filled with unique educational toys and books.

Now, more than ever, Santa Barbara needs a place like the Children's Museum, where the entire community can come together to play, learn, and share.

Help us design the best Children’s Museum ever for the children of Santa Barbara. They're counting on all of us to help make their dream a reality!

Don’t miss this chance to make your mark!

Sincerely,
